Carbis manufacture several pump protection screens on time to meet clients demanding schedule. The large diameter (1200 mm) heavy duty screens manufactured in Super Duplex are used to protect seawater lift pumps to be installed in the North sea.

Nexen Petroleum’s Golden Eagle Area Development (GEAD) project includes development of the Golden Eagle and Peregrine (formerly Pink) fields. The fields are located in blocks 20/1, 20/1N and 14/26a of the North Sea, about 110km northeast of Aberdeen. Water depth in the region is 89-139m. The GEAD project was approved by the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change in October 2011.

First production from the project is expected in 2014 at the rate of 60,000 to 65,000 barrels of oil a day (bopd). An investment of $3.3bn is being made in the project.
